Stained Glass in Coffs is a small studio run from my home in Toormina, near Coffs Harbour, on the beautiful Mid North Coast of NSW.

I have been involved in leadlight work since 1983, when I took lessons to make leadlight panels and lampshades for my own home in Sydney. I trained and worked part-time with well-known Sydney glass artist, Marc Grunseit, for 12 months before moving to Coffs Harbour in 1987.

My work has mainly been residential commissions, including windows, door and sidelight panels, free standing panels, lampshades and mirrors. Each commission is created individually, taking into account the style and situation of the project and the desires and ideas of the client.

The building of a stained glass panel is entirely a manual process, from drawing up the design, transferring it to a full-sized pattern, cutting the glass, leading it up, soldering, puttying and cleaning. Nothing is done by a machine and even a small panel like a kitchen cupboard door takes several hours of work from conception to the finished article.

As each commission is unique, it is very difficult to give an estimate of the cost until a design is agreed upon. However, I am happy to meet with a client, to view the size and position of the project and to discuss their ideas. This first meeting is usually free of charge (within the local area).

I offer the following services:-

  • COMMISSIONS – Windows, doors, lamps, mirrors
  • LEADLIGHT / STAINED GLASS SUPPLIES – I have a range of glass, lead, flux and solder for sale, as well as scrap glass suitable for sun catchers and glass mosaic
